Matthew David Reynolds of Waterville Ohio, formerly of Toledo Ohio, Seattle and Lake Stevens Washington as well as Palm Dessert California passed away at 58 years of age on March 12, 2021 after a courageous battle with gastric cancer. He was born to Olivia (Olejownik) and JD Reynolds in Toledo Ohio on January 6, 1963. He attended St. Vincent De Paul grade school and Central Catholic High School. He graduated from Central in 1981 where he lettered in Soccer and served as Senior Class Treasurer. During his later years in high school he worked at Farrells Ice Cream Parlor at Franklin Park Mall. He then worked many years in downtown Toledo at Riccardos Restaurant. Matthew was a true people person and made every customer feel special. Matthew graduated from The University of Toledo in 1986 with a Bachelor of Education. He then attended The University of Findlay for Nuclear Medicine, becoming a certified Nuclear Medicine Technician in 1992. In 2013 he obtained his Master of Business Administration. Throughout his career, he practiced Nuclear Medicine in the states of Ohio, Washington & California, even becoming a Departmental Director. Matthew had a love of history, movies, classic cars and classic rock-n-roll. While living in Washington State, he became involved with Big Brothers and Sisters. Matthew eventually became a foster dad to a six year old boy named James, who he adopted in 2006 when James turned ten years old. In addition to his parents, Matthew was preceeded in death by his Grandparents Leonard and Helen Olejownik and Mildred Reynolds, his Uncles James Olejownik (Mary Jo) and Jim Dykes as well as his cousin Kelly Dykes and his beloved Beagle Spot. Survivors include; his son James, Aunt Veronica (Thomas) Gschwind of Temperance, MI (cousins Sharyl and Stephanie), Aunt Helen Dykes of Colorado Springs, CO (cousins Lisa and Laura) Claire Snyder, many cousins and lifelong friend Mark Eckhart (Mick Brown) of Archbold, Ohio. Visitation will be Saturday March 20, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to Noon at Blanchard-Strabler Funeral Home 3219 Tremainsville Toledo, Ohio 43613.
