Matthew Mcginnis

Matthew Michael McGinnis, 44, passed surrounded by his loving family at Toledo Hospital on December 27, 2024. Matt was born to Woodrow and Jane (Puse) McGinnis on September 26, 1980.

Matt was a 1999 graduate of Eastwood High School. He worked for Kroger until becoming disabled. He and his brother Jeff shared a love of sports, pop culture, and wrestling. Matt passed these loves to his daughters. He loved humor and telling jokes and being random to lighten up a room. His family will cherish their memories to cedar point together. Matt loved taking Kadence to bowling and Kendra to soccer and watching them grow in their love of their sport but also into their own people. He was an amazing and devoted husband to Heather of 13 years. Everyone knew Matt’s other devoted love to the Green Bay Packers, the Ohio State, and Florida Panthers along with the Cleveland Guardians.

Matthew is preceded by his mother Jane; brother Jeff; and sister-in-law Halie. Matt’s memories and humor and love of life will live on through his wife Heather; daughters Kadence and Kendra; father Woodrow; in-laws Ron and Levonne Anderson, and grandma-in-law Barb.

Friends will be received at The Robert Shank, Sr. Chapel at Sunrise Life Celebrations, Walbridge (701 N. Main St.) January 8, 2025 12pm to 2pm with a memorial service at 2pm.
