Matt Davie

Matt Davie, age 52, of Temperance, Michigan paddle boarded to Heaven on January 29, 2023. He was an avid boater and snow skier. Matt loved to travel, Florida and Hawaii were among his favorite destinations, but his absolute favorite was Put-In-Bay. Matt lived life like it was always summer, carefree and laid back. He was a frequent concert goer and was proud of his ticket stub collection. Matt was always down for a shot of Captain and a good time, but was there whenever someone needed him. Although he was raised to be an Ohio State Buckeye, he was a diehard Michigan Wolverines and Dallas Cowboys fan.Matt was always a hard worker. He began his own construction company, Lariat Construction, when he was only 23 years old, running it successfully for almost thirty years. After years of swinging a hammer, Matt accepted a role as a supervisor at 84 Lumber where he was able to share his expertise with the younger generation.Matt was preceded in death by his many loving grandparents. He leaves on the shoreline, his loving wife, Carrie (VanVoorhies); parents, Bruce and Donna Miller and Pete Davie; sisters, Charlene (Glenn) Levy and Adrienne (Mike Hughes) Ramirez; children, Bronwyn (Nate), McKendry, and Aiden; nephews, Bryce, Morgan, Conner, Grant, and Trey; great-niece, Adilynn; and his four-legged best friend, Asher John Davie.The family will receive guests on Saturday, February 4, 2023 from 3:00 5:00 pm, where a Sharing of Memories will take place from 5:00 6:00 pm at Blanchard-Strabler Funeral Home, 3219 Tremainsville Rd, Toledo, Ohio. Margaritas and shots in Matts honor and continued sharing of memories will be held immediately following at Carmels Mexican Restaurant.
