Mary Leita Stacy

Mary Leita Stacy, age 75, of Holland, OH passed away September 7, 2023, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 19, 1948, in Toledo, OH to Frank and Mary Jane (Irwin) Bethel. Mary was a graduate of Springfield High School. She was employed by UPS and the Andersons as a workers’ compensation specialist and by the Village of Holland as an administrative assistant and police dispatcher.

Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. She was the sole caregiver of her four grandchildren for 5 years. For the last 8 years, Mary lived with her sister, Pat, in their childhood home. Together the two of them enjoyed visiting the casino and taking turns mowing the lawn, which they both found very relaxing. In recent years, Mary could often be found sitting on the porch waving to the neighbors and watching the wildlife. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas. Mary would decorate the entire house and mail Christmas cards to all her family and friends wishing them holiday cheer.

She is survived by her sister, Pat Bethel; brother, Bob (Diane) Bethel; son, Terry Showman; grandchildren, Dustin Showman, Courtney Showman, Taylor Showman, and Hayleigh Showman; great-granddaughter, Chloe; nephews, Matt (Becky) Bethel, Bradley (Tracy) Bethel, Brett (Amy) Bethel, godson- Blake Bethel, and Brian Bethel; niece, Lara Bethel; great-nephews, Ben, Luke, and Keaton Bethel; great-nieces, Kennedy and Flannery. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jim Bethel; and sister-in-law, Jeanne Bethel.

Family and friends may visit Sunday, September 10, 2023, from 2-6 pm at Walker Funeral Home Holland-Springfield Chapel, 7438 Airport Hwy, and Monday, September 11, 2023, from 10-11 am. The Funeral Service for Mary will be held Monday, September 11 at 11 am.
