Mary Jean Red Shirey, born on April 17, 1946, passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Oakleaf Village. She was a stay-at-home mom when we were little, involved with Girl Scouts, softball and PTA. She loved Bingo, garage sales and country music. She is remembered by everyone shes met. She worked at McDonalds for several years, retiring in 2007.Red is proceeded in death by her loving husband of 42 years, Terry Lee and her parents, Conard and Imogene (Wolfe) Wheat. She is loved by her daughters, Julie (Tom) Felt; Jenny (Dave) Hannigan and Jeanne (Louis) Shirey; her grandchildren, April Thayer, David (Kayla) Pintor, Ryan (Emma) Pietrowski, Sydney Felt and Aaliyah Pope; great-grandchildren, Madi Pontius and Ava Pintor; along with her sister, Reggie (Rob) Smith; brother, Jack Wheat; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.Friends and family may visit on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 from 3-7 p.m. at Blanchard-Strabler Funeral Home, 3219 Tremainsville Road, Toledo, Ohio, with a service following visitation, beginning at 7 p.m. Please wear something red if you plan on visiting; it was her favorite color and her nickname. A private burial will happen on Friday. After, we will be meeting at Hooters, 4782 Monroe Street, Toledo at 4 p.m. to celebrate her life.
