Mary Ernie Noftz

Mary Noftz, age 89, of Erie, Michigan, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2011 at her home with loving family by her side. She was born in Dola, West Virginia on December 1, 1921 to Chelsea and Molly Boggess. She was a graduate from Toledo Academy of Beauty. Ernie was a clerk for the U.S. post office at the Lambertville office for 28 years, retiring in 1980. Ernie was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who loved her family and friends deeply. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her. Ernie was preceded in death by her husbands, Lewis Drinkhouse, Melvin Noftz, children, David Drinkhouse, Ruth Kerr and brother, Castle Boggess. She is survived by loving children, Drucella (Tom) Mallard, Darlene (Steven) Venglarcik, Marie Drinkhouse, Jeanette (Rick) Mather, John (Cheryl) Noftz, Rick (Rosemary) Kerr, 16 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren. Visitation for Ernie will be at H. H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home, 3219 Tremainsville Rd. (at Alexis) 419-473-1301 on Friday, January 14 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Saturday from 10:00 am until start of funeral service beginning at 11:00 am. Reverend Aaron Kesson will officiate. Interment to follow at Toledo Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
