Mary Opal Meisner

Mary O. Meisner, 77 of Holland, Ohio, passed away at Hospice of Northwest Ohio on Sunday, April 23, 2023. She was born on March 20, 1946, to Joseph and Laura (Boyer) Barber in Toledo, Ohio. Mary grew up in the Reynolds Corners neighborhood and graduated from Rogers High School in 1965. During school, she played the accordion and the alto clarinet.

Mary will be remembered for many things. Her offbeat sense of humor, sarcasm, and feisty attitude will be missed by all who loved her. She was very passionate with children throughout her life. She served as a den mother assistant for the Cub Scouts, volunteered with the Head Start services, and acted as a mom to many a neighboring child from Springfield High School. Mary also enjoyed crocheting, cross-stitch, puzzle books, and playing games on Facebook. She was an avid gardener as well, a hobby which sometimes clashed with her love of having her nails always done.

Mary is survived by her three children Matthew Meisner, Samuel Meisner, and Jenine (Nathan) Young; grandchildren Chloe Meisner, Isaac Meisner, Jonas Meisner and Cheyenne Oberle; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son Christopher Morales; brothers Joseph and David Barber; and her parents.

Internment for Mary will be private.
