Mary Jane Dieter

Mary Jane MJ Dieter age 81, of Toledo, died Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Hospice of NWO. MJ was born on February 2, 1935 in Toledo to Andrew & Sophie Slachciak. She was a graduate of Scott High School. She retired from Jeep, where she worked as a secretary, in 1991, after which she worked at Toledo Engineering with her sister for several years. MJ volunteered at Mercy Hospital, was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary and PRCUA. She loved to play poker, golf, and swim and watch her grandkids& great grand kids in whatever activities they participated. She was a huge U of M fan and could often be heard sharing her Go Blue spirit. Her favorite times were those spent with her family. She is survived by her children Kathy (Pat) Rickheim of Petersburg and Tom (Tami) Murry of Toledo; her seven Grandchildren Angie (Eric), Diana (Greg), Brent (Ally), Jada Logan (Laura), Renee & Zach and 6 Great Grandchildren Jacob, Collin, Lucas, Alex, Kyle and Eloise; her twin sister Barbara (Dick) Hofmeister, special friend Jim Scott and loved nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her parents, husband Jerry Dieter and daughter Laura Howard. The family will receive visitors at H.H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home, 3219Tremainsville Rd (419-473-1301) on Sunday, September 11th from 3pm to 8pm with a prayer service to be held at 7:00pm. Visitation will continue on Monday, September 12th at St Clement Catholic Church from 9:30 am until time of Mass of the Christian Burial beginning at 10am. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. The family would like to thank Parkcliffe Alzheimer Community for their excellent care the last seven months and Hospice of NWO for their support at the end.
