Martha Lulu Bowser

Martha Lulu (Thomas) Bowser was born November 9, 1932 in Providence Township, Ohio. She was one of eleven children born to the union of Raymond Thomas and Lulu E. (Cross) Thomas.

On November 24, 1951 at the Swanton Township Hall Martha would marry the love of her life, Mr. Earl William Bowser, Jr. and together the couple was blessed with three daughters and two sons. Martha and Earl celebrated 67 years of marriage before his passing on January 3, 2018. Known as Marty and Jr, the couple lived in Holland, Ohio before permanently moving to Douglass, Texas in 2002. To provide for her family she was employed through the Springfield School District as a cook, retiring in 1995.

Martha enjoyed watching barrel racing whenever she could and especially loved cheering on her granddaughter, Cheyenne, her son, Kelly and her son in law, Matt compete at different events. She was an avid football fan rooting for the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Denver Broncos. She often enjoyed face timing with her granddaughter, Jewel and making tik-tok videos. Martha often filled her home with the savory aromas of homemade bread, lasagna, meat loaf and vegetable soup. When she found time to relax she would enjoy a refreshing margarita or tall glass of Jack Daniels and diet coke with her family and friends.

Martha also enjoyed traveling to Ft. Myers, Florida and other destinations with her daughters. Marty and Jr. enjoyed taking trips to Bossier City, Louisiana trying her luck on the slot machines on “the boats”. Above all her most cherished pastime was spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Martha Lulu Bowser, age 93 passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2026 at the Wood Haven Healthcare in Bowling Green, Ohio. Her passing was preceded by her parents; Raymond and Lulu Thomas, her loving husband; Earl Bowser, Jr; Four sisters and six brothers.

To cherish her memory she leaves behind her three daughters; Lorrie (Bob)Walter, Julie (Matt) Boice and Lisa Bowser; two sons; Keith (Deb)Bowser and Kelly (Danielle) Bowser. Eleven grandchildren; Kris (Cierra) Bowser, Emily (Kyle) Stacey, Rob Walter, Carrie (Jamie)Luce, Brandon Walter, Telia Boice, Jonah Boice, Cody (Lana)Bowser, Cheyenne (Justin) Theado, Riley Niekamp and Jewel Niekamp; ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 10:00am until 12:30pm on Wednesday, November 4, 2026 at Sunrise Cremations and Funerals, The Ray Neville Chapel, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland, Ohio 43528. Martha’s Celebration of Life will begin at 12:30pm. Per her wishes cremation has taken place.
