Mark "Dad" Long, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Iva Long, as well as his beloved brothers and sisters.
Mark is survived by his cherished wife, partner, and soulmate, Debbie Long; his children, Jai Long and Jess (William) Nelson; his adored grandson, Aiden; his brother, Tim Long; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Mark was an Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War. He worked in the food services industry for many years and retired as a store manager from The Original Gino’s, where he was known for his leadership and warmth.
Mark had a deep love for video games and baking—passions he joyfully passed down to his children and grandson. One of his most treasured memories was baking Christmas cookies with Aiden, a tradition filled with laughter and love.
Above all, Mark was a man of heart. He loved his family fiercely and was a proud and unwavering supporter of his LGBTQ+ kids. His kindness, compassion, and unwavering support touched many lives and will continue to inspire those who knew him.
Mark’s legacy is one of love, acceptance, and joy. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the Ray Neville Chapel at Sunrise Cremations and Funerals, 7438 Airport HWY, Holland, Ohio, from 11:00-3:00pm, with a service beginning at 11:30am. Continued gathering will follow until 3:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to please consider a donation in Mark’s memory to Toledo Pride or Collingwood Arts Center.
