Marjorie Soards- Maiden

Marjorie Soards- Maiden 86, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 1, 2025, at The Grove in Sylvania, Ohio after a long struggle with Parkinsonism and dementia. Marjorie was born March 26, 1939 in Lamb, Kentucky to James and Anna (Jones) Soards.

Marjorie was employed at Flower Hospital, Sylvania, Ohio for 30 years as an EKG Specialist. Retiring at age 71.

Marjorie married Roy Maiden September 4, 2010 and was a devoted wife, sister, aunt and great aunt. Roy preceded her in death October 30, 2017. She was a member of Athens Missionary Baptist Church, Walbridge, Ohio. In her spare time Marjorie enjoyed crafting, sewing and shopping.

Marjorie is survived by her brother Tony (Cheryl) Soards; sisters Betty Sue Proffitt and Linda (Johnny) Harlow; brother-in-law, Mitchel Bray; sister-in-law, Margaret Soards.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Roy, brother-in-law Wilson Proffitt and Lendal Trowbridge, siblings, Mary Bray, Jim (Pat) Soards and Bill Soards. Also passing a day later, May 2, 2025, was her sister, Joyce Trowbridge.

Also left surviving Marjorie are dear friends Benny (Sr) and Mary Rutherford, niece Pam (Jeff) Bryan, nephew Tim (Debra) Trowbridge, and many nephews and nieces.

Family and friends may visit the Athens Missionary Baptist Church, 101 Breckman Street, Walbridge, Ohio 43465 on Thursday, May 8, 2025 from 2 – 7 PM. Funeral services will take place at the church on Friday, May 9, 2025 at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Athens Missionary Baptist Church.
