Marilyn Felice Smith-Kovar, born on November 2, 1949, in NYC, passed away peacefully on April 1st at the Rosary Care Center in Sylvania due to complications from the stroke she had on November 11, 2025.
After Marilyn graduated High School she went for her under graduate at NYU in New York and then went on to BGSU to get her PHD in Psychology, which she turned into her profession of over 50 years of helping people.
She loved to be outside working in her garden and walking her little buddy, Cody. She also was an avid knitter, knitting socks and hats for her friends. Recently after she retired 3 years ago, she took up painting rocks with happy sayings and pictures on them, which she gave away to family and friends.
You could also find Marilyn getting involved in helping family and friends with their problems.
She is survived by her husband, Bob; son, Bobby; daughters, Rebecca and Elizabeth; and her little dog, Cody.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, Bella and Charles Schmuckler; and brother, Martin.
The family also wants to thank the Rosary Care Center of Sylvania and Heartland Hospice for the exceptional and attentive care she received there.
A Celebration of Life is planned.
