Marcella Robinson

Marcella J. Robinson, 80, of Toledo OH went home to be with the Lord on July 8, 2022, at Arbors of Sylvania. She was born on July 15, 1941, in West Paducah, Kentucky. She was the youngest of 12 children with a 25-year age gap between her and her eldest sister Gladys.Marcella accepted Christ at a young age, and she sang and played the piano in her local church as an adult. She was songwriter, and she wrote a song that was published in Los Angeles California in the sixties. Her favorite saying was charity begins at home and spreads abroad. She believed that love began at home and then it was spread abroad to others. She loved soul music and gospel music. She preferred music over watching TV. Her favorite gospel songs were Oh Happy Day, Rough Side of the Mountain and I know the Lord will make a way. Her favorite soul singers were Johnny Taylor & Tyrone Davis. She can be heard singing I believe in You if You believe in me by Johnny Taylor, and If I could turn back the hands of time by Tyrone Davis. Two weeks prior to her death, Marcella was singing her favorite gospel songs were- I know the Lord will make a way and Rough Side of the Mountain. Marcella was preceded in death by her husband Louis Robinson, parents, Herman Majors Sr. and Joan Hughes Majors, 7 brothers, Oatha, Willie Ross, Charles (Virginia), Billy, Dewey, Rodney, Herman Jr Majors, 3 sisters Shirley (JC) Williams, Gladys (Joe) George and Marie Wilson. Marcella is survived by her daughter Cynthia Reid, sons, Philip (Aundrea) Robinson of Indianapolis Indiana, Kevin Robinson, and Michael (Beverly) Robinson of Toledo, OH, grandchildren, Marquia Graham, Alexandria Robinson, Jasmine Brown, Philip Robinson, and Alyssa Robinson. two great-grandchildren, Quincy and Felix and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins.The family would like to thank Arbors of Sylvania for their loving care of Marcella Robinson.Memorial Services are scheduled for 10a-11a family hour and funeral service to follow at 11a at Blanchard-Strabler Funeral Home, 3219 Tremainsville Rd.
