Loretta L. Halliday, age 86, passed away on November 11, 2023. Born September 10, 1937, Loretta was a lifelong resident of the Holland/Swanton area. She graduated from Holland High School in 1955.
Loretta loved spending time in nature, frequently going on camping trips to Big Sandy to spend some time fishing. She always enjoyed watching birds outside her window and had a special love for her two chihuahuas and her cats. Loretta enjoyed playing cards and bingo, eating Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, and was a big fan of Betty Boop. Most important to her, however, was her family. Loretta had eight children and was a loving mother and grandmother.
Loretta is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Marvel Cogan; daughter, Gail Halliday; grandson, Nathaniel Timmons; and siblings, George Cogan, Kari Dooley, Melvin Cogan, and infant twin brothers. She is survived by her children, Linda (George) Timmons, Pamela Halliday, Janet (Kevin) Warner, Vicki (William) Canfield, Mary (Bob) Nelson, Mark Halliday, and Kelly Halliday-Thomas; sister, Joyce (Jim) Becker; 18 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited to visit at Walker Funeral Home, Holland-Springfield Chapel, 7438 Airport Hwy, Holland, OH 43528, on Wednesday, November 15, from 10am to 1pm, where a funeral service will take place at 1pm. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
