Lisbeth Anne Rakestraw

Lisbeth "Beth" Anne Rakestraw, loving wife and mother passed away peacefully on October 31, 2020 at the age of 68. Beth was born June 14, 1952 in Toledo, Ohio to William Ickes and Elizabeth Zimmerman. She graduated from Roy C. Start High School in 1970. She attended Christ the King Church and maintained a strong relationship with God throughout her life. She was known for her infectious smile and ability to make all those around her feel special. She will be remembered for her compassionate and witty spirit. Beth was heartfelt and sincere. Beth had numerous hobbies. She had a passion for gardening and could take any plant or flower and transform it into something beautiful. She loved to cook and everyone knew when they came to her home, they were leaving with leftovers. Beth enjoyed knitting, listening to her favorite music with the love of her life and snuggling with her two cats, Maggie and Jay. Holidays were her favorites, especially Christmas. Beth could take any holiday and create it into the most magical moment for her family and friends. Beth was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Cavaliers and her beloved Cleveland Indians. She loved cheering her teams on with her family. Go Tribe! She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Gary, Mark and John. Beth is survived by her devoted husband of 35 years, Jim; daughters, Jen (Brandon) Bauman and Katie (R.C. Phinney) Gullufsen; son, Doug Gullufsen; grandchildren, Brittany (Chris) Cantwell, Noah Childress, Peyton Seward and one great grandchild, Roman James. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Richard Phinney, Dr. Jamey Ruiz, Toledo Hospital CCU and Flower Hospital Rehab for the compassion and care that she received. Friends will be received on Saturday, November 7, 2020 from 2:00 PM until the time of the funeral service at 3:00 PM in Walker Funeral Home, Holland-Springfield Chapel, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland, OH 43528 (419-865-8879).
