Linda S. Davis

Linda S. Davis, 81, of Maumee, Ohio died peacefully surrounded by family on Monday evening, April 10, 2023. Born February 3, 1942 in Belvidere, Illinois, the daughter of Carl and Agnes "Midge"

Hollensteiner, she was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her only brother, Ted Hollensteiner (2021). Linda was joined in marriage to Larry E. Davis (deceased 2008) on April 12, 1959 and although that union was dissolved many years later, they both professed care and love for the other. They had one child, Desma Klopfenstein.

Linda was a very outgoing, kind person whose energy could motivate and inspire those around her. She worked many jobs throughout her life, even completing a degree as a lab technician after 60 years old. Truly, though, she enjoyed her position as regional manager of Salvation Army Stores of Northern Illinois the most, interacting with staff and the public.

In the late 1960's, Linda committed her heart to the Lord and became a member of the Nazarene Church. Later, she was baptized in the Newcastle Bible Church with her husband Larry.

She was a loving mother and grandmother, excited to plan shopping trips and holiday gatherings, along with her own mother, for the family. She will be missed by her family and others who knew and loved her as well.

Linda is survived by her daughter Desma (Lee) Klopfenstein; grandchildren Timna (Amlan) Klopfenstein, Abel Klopfenstein, Bekah (Trent) Witzig, Beth Klopfenstein, Jared (Melody) Klopfenstein, and Chloe Klopfenstein; great grandchildren Aylah, Bronson, Jackson, Finn, Ellie, Nora, Myla, Sofia and twins expected in August of 2023.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm in the Walker Funeral Home, Holland-Springfield Chapel, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland, OH 43528. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 6:00 pm. Burial will be held privately in Rockford, IL.
