Leon K. Coberley

Leon K. Coberley, age 85 of Toledo, died Thursday January 14, 2016 at Ebeid Hospice, Sylvania. He was born June 13, 1930 in Toledo to Mr. & Mrs. Clair (Julia Fisher) Coberley. He worked for many years as a bricklayer for Local 3, starting in 1950. He was a Trilby Volunteer Firefighter for many years; a Shriner and member of Sylvania Masonic Lodge 287; Chapter Dad, Order of Demolays. He enjoyed 23 winters in FL with his wife, Arlene and enjoyed fishing, golf, collecting quarters, shuffleboard, snowmobiling and playing cards. Survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Arlene (Katafiasz) Coberley; daughters, Colleen Hall of Toledo, Brenda (Scott) Mueller of FL; son, Leon N. (Debra) Coberley of Toledo; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchilden; sisters, Joyce (Lex) Robertson of FL and Patricia (James) Van Orden of Toledo. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jackie Anderson; granddaughter Jennifer and great-grandson, Melvin Leo. Friends will be received at H.H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home (3219 Tremainsville @ Alexis) on Monday from 2-8 P.M. , with a Masonic Ceremony at 7 P.M. and on Tuesday from 9 A.M. until the time of Services at 10 A.M., Pastor Rae Jean Bolster, officiating.
