Lena R. Holtz

Lena R. Holtz, age 88 of Sylvania, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2015 with her loving family by her side at Goerlich Center. She was born in Coldsprings, Oklahoma on July 20, 1927 to Walker and Sadie Wynns. Lena was employed as a data entry operator at Owens-Corning, retiring in 1982. Lena loved life and living to the fullest. She cherished spending time with her family and was known for playing pranks on everyone. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Gene Nowlan and Alvin Holtz and her son, Howard Nowlan. Lena is survived by her devoted daughters, Alice Flower, Terri Nowlan, Robin (Steve) Holtz, Patti Nowlan, grandchildren, Evan, Jennifer, Kelly (Jerry) Sean (Andy), Meaghan (Tom), Sarah (Andrew), Corey, Kim (Jeremy), Rachael (Thomas), Becca (Jack), Anna, Faith and 19 great grandchildren. Visitation will be on Sunday, August 23 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at H. H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home, 3219 Tremainsville Rd (419-473-1301. Funeral service will be Monday at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Officiating is Pastor John Clark. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery.
