Leland Chadwell passed away suddenly at home on August 14, 2024, at the age of 57. Born in Monroe, Michigan, to David Chadwell and Ohler Depew, Leland lived a life marked by dedication, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to his loved ones.
Leland's journey began early, as he started working at the age of 14. He served as a Private First Class in the U.S. Army from 1986 to 1990. Following his military service, Leland embarked on a long career as an operator in various steel manufacturing plants, where he worked diligently for 30 years.
Outside of work, he found joy in taking his beloved Pitbull, Dallas, on walks, and cherished the time spent in nature. He also had a deep love for traveling, particularly to Kentucky to visit family, and enjoyed the simple pleasure of watching and sharing funny videos with those around him.
In his spare time, Leland found solace in working on cars. He was a pillar of support for his family, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer a kind word.
Leland is survived by his siblings: Margaret (Michael) Zielinski, Patricia (John) Sullivan, Bobby Chadwell, Timothy Chadwell, Tina Chadwell, Barbie (Bryan) Gilland, Cheryl Zielinski, and Brenda Zielinski; son, Andrew Heath; many nieces and nephews; and beloved granddaughter, Ainsley. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, David Chadwell Jr.; and brothers-in-law, Greg VanDenk and Donald Zielinski.
Visitation will be held from 10:00am-12:00pm on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, 701 N. Main Street Walbridge, Ohio 43465. A funeral ceremony will be held at 12:00pm in the funeral chapel following visiting hours. For those wishing to make a memorial gift in Leland’s honor, donations may go to the care of the family.
