Larry Carr

Larry Carr was born on December 14th, 1947 in Toledo, OH. He was proceeded in death by his father Eugene Carr, mother Fannie Mae Hesterly, brothers Ted Lewis, Alvin Carr, and sisters Betty Wright and Caroline Lewis. Larry served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and received an honorable discharge. He attended Jesup W. Scott High School. He was a truck driver for several years for Interstate Trucking Company and M&M Trucking Company. Larry had a great love of playing billiards throughout the city for many leagues. In 1992 when he was stricken with cardiomyopathy, he became the 36th heart transplant recipient at MCO Hospital and continued with his love of playing billiards. Larry was a devoted family man, and father to sons Charlie Hughes, Anthony (Lisa) Carr, Kevin Carr, Prentice (Maya) Hubbard, DeWayne Hubbard, Larry (Murjani) Carr Jr., daughters Kim (Tyler) Roberts, Rachel (Tony) Hunter and April Carr. He was a loving grandfather to a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He leaves behind his wife of 44 years, Lucy (Costilla,) his brothers Derrick Carr and Lawrence Carr, and sisters Brenda Carr, Denise Carr, Desiree Carr and Karen Carr. Friends will be received at Blanchard-Strabler Funeral Home (1163 W. Sylvania at Lockwood, 419-269-1111) on Friday from 1 PM until the time of Services at 5 PM.
