Kent Jeffrey

Kent W. Jeffrey passed away peacefully at home on the morning of January 16, 2018. He has gone on to be at rest with his Lord and Savior in Heaven. Psalm 25: In you, Lord my God, I put my trust... Kent was born July 27, 1940 in Paulding, Ohio to Owen and Wanda Jeffrey. The family moved to Toledo when Kent was a child, and he graduated from Scott High School. He attended Ohio Wesleyan University, where he played football, and graduated from the University of Toledo. Kent retired from the Hospital Council of Northwest Ohio in 2002. In 2008, Kent and his wife Marti began fostering infants for Lucas County Children Services. Kents joy in life was his family and all of his children, grandchildren, and foster grandchildren. Kent is survived by his wife of thirty years, Marti Salwisz, and his children Peter (Jeannine) Jeffrey; Melissa (Don) VanderHorst; Samuel (Brianna) Jeffrey; Lisa (Douglas Johnson) Smith; Mishelle Smith; Melinda Smith; Theodore (Shannon) Smith; and Alexander (Amber) Salwisz; and his grandchildren MelanieJane, Gabriel, Peter, Anne, Max, Leo, Alexis, Aspen, Annabelle, Adeline, and Owen, and many foster grandchildren. Per Kents wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral, but there will be a memorial service with luncheon to follow on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Hope United Methodist Church, 4069 W. Sylvania Ave., Toledo, Ohio 43623. It was also Kents wish that any donations be made to Hope United Methodist Church.
