Ken Sarka, Jr., age 69, peacefully passed away Saturday morning. He was born in Oregon, Ohio, to Kenneth A. Sr. and Catherine Sarka, who preceded him to heaven.
Ken graduated from St. Jerome Grade School in 1971 and Lake High School in 1975. He then followed in his father's footsteps, working over 20 years on the N&W/S Railroad. He then went on to work for Chrysler at the Toledo Machining Plant for over 20 years, where he ultimately retired. Ken had a passion for the game of chess, which carried throughout his lifetime. Surviving Ken are his fiancé Linda Cowan, his sons Bradley Allen and Zachary Allen (Eryn Roberts), along with soon-to-be-born first grandchild, Lucas Allen. Ken is also survived by his brother Mark (Antonella) Sarka, sister Becky Mincheff, and "favorite niece" Amanda Mincheff (Matthew) Pritchett, along with his dog Charley. Ken has been blessed with lifetime friendships from their years together at St. Jerome's... Dennis Rudzinski, Bob Bihn, Matt Pollauf and Frank Wright.
Friends will be received on Thursday, July 30, 2026, from 5:00-8:00 pm at The Robert Shank, Sr. Chapel at Sunrise Cremations and Funerals, 701 N. Main St., Walbridge, Ohio. A Funeral Mass will be the following morning on Friday, July 31, 2026 at 10:30 am at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 300 Warner St., Walbridge, Ohio, with a one-hour visitation from 9:30-10:30 am prior to mass. A luncheon, also at St. Jerome, will immediately follow mass. In true Ken fashion, lunch will be Tony Packos along withWixey's 'black and white' cookies. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jerome Church.
