Kenneth George Cook Sr., age 86, passed away on February 1, 2026, at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home in Archbold, Ohio.
Kenneth, the eldest son of George VonSeggern and the youngest son of Hattie Dusha, was born on October 23, 1939, in Swanton, Ohio. He was a proud high school graduate and spent his early years working a variety of jobs, before dedicating over 22 years of service as a school engineer and custodian for Anthony Wayne Schools. He was known for his strong work ethic, problem solving skills, and willingness to help anyone who needed it.
Kenneth was married to the love of his life, Alice (Herzog) Cook, on February 20, 1960, and together they shared many happy years, before her passing in 2010. Their time together was filled with camping trips, fishing adventures, and simple joys that meant the most to him.
He had a great love for game shows, especially Family Feud and Wheel of Fortune, and was always ready with a cheesy dad joke or quick one liner to make people laugh. Kenneth enjoyed playing card games, fixing cars, and anything that involved working with his hands. He was generous to a fault, always willing to give his time, skills, or resources to help others.
Kenneth will be remembered for his kindness, his humor, and his giving spirit. He leaves behind his children, Alice (Randy) Wineinger, Kenneth (April) Cook, Jr., Paula (Rob VanDoren) Rieger, and Paul Cook; grandchildren, Amanda, Steffani, Joshua, Christine, Gregory, Adam, Jessica, Jennifer, Paul Jr., and 21 great-grandchildren; one brother, Don VonSeggern. Kenneth was preceded in death by numerous brothers and sisters, from his mother, Hattie Dusha and father, George VonSeggern.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026, from 3:00-7:00 pm, in the Ray Neville Chapel at Sunrise Cremations and Funerals, 7438 Airport HWY, Holland.
