Kenneth E. Belair

April 5, 1931 — January 1, 2016

Kenneth Belair passed away in Perrysburg, OH on January 1, 2016 surrounded by his loving children. Kenneth was born in Erie, Michigan on April 5, 1931. The youngest of seven, he brought joy to everyone with just one flash of his baby blues. Kenneth married his one and only true love, Margery DuVall, in 1952. They had 12 children, 19 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Ken joined the U.S Army, followed by nearly 25 years as a car repairman for the C&O Railroad. He was an avid sportsman: fishing, hunting, euchre and billiards. He loved working on anything with a motor, and had a passion and gift for gardening. He started and grew a garden for St. Leonard Church while living in Heath, Ohio, and kept several garden squares while living in Leesburg, FL. His back-yard garden in Toledo always flourished. Ken will be dearly missed by his sons Keith and Joseph Belair; daughters Karen, Jane (John) Day, Yvonne (Gregory) McNulty, Brenda (Mark) Vandegrift, Shirley (Dave) Keil, Trina (Steven) Jeffery, and Georgette. He was preceded in death by his wife Margery. Kens family would like to thank St. Clare Commons for keeping him comfortable in his last days, with special thanks to Sister Joy. Ken was very involved with the VFW and the Catholic Church. Kens family suggests that in lieu of flowers, send donations to St. Clare Commons 12469 Five Point Rd, Perrysburg, OH 43551.
