JUNIDAH (JUNE) (EDAH) LYONSJunidah Lyons, nee Mohammad, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in her sleep on Monday July 26, 2021. She was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Hajjah Ramlah BT Haji Abdul Rahman (mother) and Mohammad bin Pak Mus (father) on May 15, 1959. She came to the United States in 1986 to study at the University of Toledo, where she earned a bachelors degree in Finance in 1989. She married her husband, Geoffrey Lyons, that same year. They had no children and divorced in 2005. She also became a United States citizen in 2005. She worked for the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services for nearly 30 years and was busy planning her retirement in 2022.June was one of 13 siblings and travelled back to Malaysia every 3 years to visit her large extended family. She also enjoyed visiting other countries in Asia, as well as England, Australia, and various attractions in the Unites States with her dearest friend from girlhood, Val. June had egalitarian principles and welcomed friends from all religious and ethnic backgrounds. At the same time, her home was a peaceful sanctuary where she could rest and rejuvenate from the stresses of daily life. She filled her small apartment with photographs of family and friends, plants and flowers, and colorful dcor. She will be forever missed by all who knew her.Visitation will be held Thursday August 5, 2021, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, at Blanchard Strabler Funeral Home, 3219 Tremainsville Road, Toledo, OH 43613.
