Joyce Jean Shivak

Joyce “Sue” Shivak, 77, of Walbridge, Ohio, passed away peacefully at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo, on Thursday, February 23, 2023. Sue was born in Walbridge, on March 21, 1945, the daughter of Carl and Reva (Spradlin) Risner. She married Ronald G. Shivak on October 26, 1979 in in the same home she was born in and they celebrated 27 years together until his death on October 11, 2006.

Sue loved to play Bingo and was a regular for many years at St. Jerome’s and Daystar, Bingo games. She was also a fan of the Ohio Lottery! Sue was by all measures, a caregiver, seeing to the needs of family and friends, no matter the need. She especially loved taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and being a vital part of their lives.

Sue is survived by her sons, Eric L. (Milissa) Shivak, Christopher F. (Lori) Gill, and Randall H. (Kim) Gill, grandchildren, Chad, Nate, Dylan, Kylee, Cody, and Andrea, great-grandchildren, Oliver, Finn, Bryson and Willow, sister, Reda (Don) Fleming, and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers, Bill and Freeman Risner.

Visitation for Sue will be begin at 10:00 AM Friday, March 3, 2023 followed by the funeral service at 1:00 PM at the Walker Funeral Home – Walbridge Chapel, 701 N. Main St., Walbridge, Ohio. Interment will follow at the Lake Township Cemetery.
