John W Futrel, Sr.

.John W. Futrel Sr. age 80, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away at his home on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 under the care of Northwest Ohio Hospice. He was born in Toledo on November 7, 1928 to John and Mamie Futrel. John was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during 1947 until 1950. He was employed with Washington Local Schools in the maintenance dept. for 31 years, retiring in 1994. John was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Mearl and Earl Futrel, sister, Evelyn Prey, grandsons, Leonard Futrel II and Tyler Brown.John is survived by his loving wife, Mary Futrel, children, Christine (Dave) Fetterly, Karen (Rick) Brust, Clara (Leonard) Futrel, Leonard (Clara) Futrel, Linda Futrel, Rosemary (Joe) Orcutt, Patricia (Bud) Adams, Hazel (Gordon) Roberts, Roberta (Doug) Butz, Suzanne (Les) McFarland, Dennis Futrel, Mary (Terry) Portillo, 32 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild expected this fall, sister Rosemary (Joe) Reed.Visitation for John will be at H. H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home, 3219 Tremainsville Rd. (at Alexis) 419-473-1301 on Thursday, August 6 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm with funeral services at 1:00 pm on Friday.
