John Jake Bukowski

John Robert Jake Bukowski, age 77, passed away on March 16, 2015. Jake was born in Toledo on May 19, 1937 to John F. and Virginia Mae (Koester) Bukowski. Jake was a natural born athlete and a 1955 graduate of Whitmer High School where he excelled in basketball and golf. He was a member of the Whitmer High School Athletic Hall of Fame. He had a lifelong love of horses and owned racing thoroughbreds. Jake also loved to travel, especially enjoying beaches and horse racing tracks in California and Florida. Jake retired from Libbey Glass in 2000. Jake had 3 children with his former wife, Nancy Smith; Cindy Herrmann, John, Jr. (Patti) and Cheryl (John) Myers. Along with his children, he is also survived by seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, two brothers, Jim and Jan Smokey Bukowski and is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jerry and long-time companion Sharon Harrison. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends. Visitation will be on Friday, March 27, 2015 from 2-8PM with prayers at 7PM at H.H.
