Joan 'Joanna' E. Wirick, 80, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on Friday, August 7, 2015, at the Goerlich Center. Joanna was born in North Baltimore, Ohio along with her twin brother, John on April 6, 1935. She moved to Toledo as a youth and graduated from Springfield High School. Joanna was an employee of the Lion Store for over 30 years. She was always fashionably dressed, as if she stepped out of the store window. Joanna retired shortly after they were bought out by Dillards. She also then changed the way she dressed, black jeans and a white blouse. That was her signature style. She was the child of John Wirick of North Baltimore and Ann Wirick-Van Divort (Benedict) who was born in Czechoslovakia. She was preceded in death by her twin brother and her parents. Joanna leaves behind many friends that she met through the Lion Store, most specifically, Janet Smith, Joanne Szymanski, Kay Patterson, Debbie Nadolny, Linda Horvath, Carol McVety, Bev Kramp and Sally Michaels. The funeral service will be in the Chapel at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park on Friday, August 14, 2015, at 1 pm.
