With heavy hearts, Joan Wagner, 87 of Perrysburg, Ohio passed away suddenly, but peacefully on February 27, 2025. Joan was born in Toledo, Ohio on June 6, 1937 to John and Clementine Ousky. In her early years of marriage, she worked for Craft Masters.
Joan loved playing cards, especially euchre, canasta, rummy and poker with family and friends. She hosted many poker nights with her husband John. She loved cooking great meals for all to enjoy. It was often said that if you left her home hungry, that was by choice. To know her was to love her and she always put others first. She was a great listener and always enjoyed sharing stories and discussing pictures with family. Joan loved to travel, one of her favorite trips she talked about was going to Mexico to watch the migration of the monarch butterflies. She lived like an angel on earth and now when a butterfly appears Joan is near. She will be truly missed and held dear to our heart.
She is survived by sister, Laurie Ousky, son, John Wagner and generations of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, brothers (Larry and Mike Ousky) and loving husband of 56 years, John Wagner.
A celebration of Joan’s life for family and friends will be held May 31, 2025 at a location to be determined and shared soon.
A special thank you to the staff at St. Claire Commons of Perrysburg for your care and friendship to Joan.
For those wishing to make a contribution in Joan’s memory, please consider donating to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as she was a dedicated supporter for many years.
