Jettie B. White

Jettie B. White, 91, formerly of Northwood, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Mercy-St. Charles Hospital, Oregon, Ohio. Jettie was born in Corbin, Kentucky, on April 13, 1932, the daughter of James E. and Laura M. (White) Carroll. She married the love of her life, Marion E. White on November 14, 1952, in Angola, Indiana, and after 28 years, he preceded her in death on September 25, 1980.

Jettie worked as an electrical technician for Owens Illinois and for Jobst Industries, retiring in 1993. She was a devoted member of Mainstreet Church in Walbridge and enjoyed the fellowship shared with those around her. When she was younger, she and her husband went on camping trips, visiting many beautiful places around the United States. As Jettie grew older, she became fascinated with depression glass, and amassed a wonderful collection that included many colors and styles. Jettie also passed her time with jigsaw puzzles and enjoying morning coffee with friends.

Jettie is survived by her daughters, Barbara Grindle and Kathryn White, grandsons, Scott (Pela) Grindle and Andrew White and her great-grandchild, Yonten Grindle. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Laura, husband, Marion, sister, Jean Taylor, brother, James B. Carroll and half-brother, Gary Smith.

A memorial service for friends and family is being planned for a later date. Burial will be in the Lake Township Cemetery, Millbury, Ohio.
