Jesus “Jesse” Lira

Jesus Lira, a cherished individual, was born on October 24, 1974, in Toledo, Ohio. He departed this life on October 5, 2025, in Walbridge, Ohio. Over the course of his life, Jesus made significant contributions to his community, dedicating over 30 years of service working for Meijer in Oregon, Ohio.

His adventurous spirit was reflected in his hobbies and interests; he loved the Dallas Cowboys and Ohio State Football, as well as bonfires, Peppermint Snapps, and movies—especially those related to the beloved Star Wars franchise. Jesus also had a unique fondness for dragons, which spoke to his lively imagination and passion for storytelling.

Jesus is survived by his devoted sisters, Sylvia Zuniga, Maria Lira Fackelman (Cherie) , and Venancia "Nanci" Lira. He leaves behind a loving extended family that includes Ramon Zuniga, Jr., (Emelia), Kristine Lira (Hector), Andrea Rodriguez (Derik), Stefany Gomez (Gabriel), Jacob Smith, Jessica Chernota (Randy), Hector III, Ricky Murphy, Yasmene, Isaiah, Graziela, Luzia, Xavier, Dominic, Gabriel. Additionally, he forged long-lasting friendships with Jan, Doug and Denise, and many of his Meijer family, who will dearly miss him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, who both passed away in 2005. Their absence has left a void in his life, yet his legacy continues through the love and memories shared by those he leaves behind.

A visitation will be held in his honor on October 12, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, followed by a funeral service starting at 4:00 PM at Sunrise Cremations and Funerals - Walbridge, located at 701 N. Main St, Walbridge, OH 43465.

Jesus Lira will be remembered for his kindness, warmth, and the joy he brought into the lives of others. His spirit will continue to resonate deeply with all who knew him.
