Jennifer Lynn Cichy Ray

May 14, 1976 — October 13, 2019

Jennifer Lynn Ray (Cichy) passed away October 13, 2019 after 43 years of life filled with love for her family and friends. She was born May 14, 1976 in Toledo, Ohio to her parents Leo and Deborah. She graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1994 and later attended the University of Toledo and obtained several technical certifications. An individual in the purest sense of the word, Jennifer did not merely walk to the beat of her own drummer, but pursued the road less traveled with passion. She saw the world with an artists eye and communicated that beauty through her talent for painting and drawing. And in her unique way, just as she enjoyed the abstract world of art, she was also gifted with a mechanical aptitude that equipped her for success as a Journeyman Tool and Die Maker and HVAC Apprentice. This duality characterized Jennifer. A free spirit, Jennifer was most at home among her family. She loved to travel and enjoyed the peace of the Smoky Mountains. At the same time, she enjoyed returning home again, visiting with family at the farmers market and meeting friends at the YMCA. Preceded in death by grandmother, Marie Cichy; grandfathers Marion Cichy and Bob Beery; and most recently her mom, Deborah Christoff, Jennifers heart was divided mourning those she lost while holding dear those who have now survived her. She will be missed by her much-loved daughter, Emily Ray; husband, Brian Ray; father, Leo Cichy; stepfather, Chris Christoff; grandmother, Joanne Beery; sisters Laurie Cichy, Alisha Christoff, and Brittany Biegajski. She also leaves her aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends to cherish her memory. Memorials may take the form of a contribution to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, Greater Toledo, 2753 West Central Avenue, Toledo, OH 43606. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 2nd, 2019 at Crossroads Community Church at noon. Family will be received one hour prior to the start of service. Flowers may be sent to the church at 6960 Sylvania-Petersburg Road, Ottawa Lake, MI 49267.
