Jean Alice Wagoner

Jean Wagoner, age 87, passed away August 26, 2013. She attended University of Michigan. In 1945 Jean took the bus to San Francisco to get married. Her family meant a lot to her. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She had a big interest in genealogy and put together many notebooks on family history. Jean loved writing about her memories of the past and for years submitted articles every month to the Bend of the River, even in the last months of her life. She loved family gatherings and hosted many birthday and Halloween parties. In later years she enjoyed traveling by train as she ventured forth on Elderhostel trips around the country and visiting her son, Bob. Jean is survived by her children, Virginia Wagoner, Marilynn Wagoner, Robert (Terry) Wagoner, William (Colleen) Wagoner, grandchildren, Stacie (Rob) Poole, Todd Wagoner, Greg Wagoner, Becca (Brett Glavan)Wagoner, great- grandchildren, Caleigh and Addison Poole, sister, Marjorie (Robert) Orr, cousin, Mae Wygant, who was like her little sister. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Porter and Mabel McDonnell, husband, Gilbert Wagoner, brother, Porter McDonnell Jr., sister, Nancy (Willyard) Carlson. Memorial visitation will be at H. H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home, 3219 Tremainsville Rd (419-473-1301) on Friday, August 30 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
