Jason M. Means

Jason Means died unexpectedly on January 25, 2023 near his home in Toledo, Ohio, at the age of 47. He was born to his parents, Cheryl Means and Dennis Snider on June 29, 1975. Growing up, Jason, also known by friends and family as Jay, was the oldest of five children. He had a protective instinct from an early age and would do anything to keep his family safe. He was also silly at times, putting on shows and entertaining his family.

In 1998 he met his longtime girlfriend and soulmate, Nichole Rahmel, and together they built a homesteaders life. They have two beautiful children. Jay was famous for his dad jokes and was persistent in reminding his daughter to check her oil. He was great at fixing cars and could take any random item, repair it and sell it; a sort of grass roots entrepreneur. Gardening was something he excelled at and he grew many fresh fruits and vegetables on his property. He loved to make everything from scratch and was an amazing cook. Jay was a true patriot and loved his country and his freedom.

Jason had a way of reading people. He knew when to trust someone. He lived in the moment and would rather sit and talk, spending quality time together, than go out. He was honest and direct, and you knew what he thought about you.

He will be sadly missed beyond what any words can express by Nichole; his children Mikala and Xerxes; Mother Cheryl; siblings Heather, Brandy, James, Todd; nieces and nephews Dante, Gage, Morgan, Hailey, Haiden, Dominique , Helen, Todd, Walker, and many other aunts and uncles. He was preceded by his father, grandparents, many other aunts and uncles, and his nephew Brice.

A visitation will be held Friday, February 3, 2023 at Holland-Springfield-Walker Funeral Home (7438 Airport Hwy.) from 4 pm-7 pm with a sharing of memories beginning at 6 pm. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks you consider a gift to help offset the service costs.
