Janice D. Ayres

Janice Diane Ayres, 73, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2026, surrounded by the family who loved her deeply.

Born on May 3, 1953 in Raeford, North Carolina, Janice lived a life full of love, strength, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family. For 56 years, she was the beloved wife of Harold Ayres, standing beside him through every season of life with loyalty, resilience, and a spirit that could light up any room.

Janice was the proud mother of daughter Alina Fuller (Tom Fuller) and daughter Darcy Ludwig (Thom Taylor). She was also a deeply loved grandmother to Morgan (Blake), Mitchell (Tayler), Cydney, Skyler and Zoey, and great-grandmother to Grayson, Alina Jo, Liam, Brynlee, Theo, and Sonnet. She is also survived by her brothers, Wayne Wright and Jerry Wright.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Franklin Wright and Merle Jaretz and her sister, Joann Parks.

Janice spent much of her life caring for others. Alongside her role as a devoted wife to a 20+ year Navy Chief, she worked as a teacher and Guardian ad Litem, advocating for and supporting children in need. She had a rare way of making people feel seen, welcomed, and loved exactly as they were.

Anyone who knew Janice knew her love for life was contagious. She was authentic to her core, tough as nails when she needed to be, yet somehow still the sweetest person in the room. She cherished time with her family above all else and had a gift for making everyday moments feel special, especially for her grandchildren. Her presence filled holidays, gatherings, and ordinary days alike with warmth, laughter, and love.

The space she leaves behind is immeasurable, but so is the love and legacy she leaves with her family.

Cremation arrangements are being handled by Sunrise Cremations and Funerals. Per Janice's wishes, no public services will be held at this time.
