Janet Grace Culter, aged 60, died peacefully on August 31st, 2017 at the Ebeid Hospice Residence in Sylvania, OH after a 5 year battle with Alzheimers Disease. Janet was born June 25, 1957, in Lincoln Park, Michigan, the daughter of the late Raborn and Grace Foster. In 1980, Janet married the love of her life Robert Culter, on September 19th in Lincoln Park, MI. Together they purchased their first home in Carleton and started their family. Janet is survived by her husband, Robert and their children;Chris (Nichole) Culter of Carleton, Corey (Amanda) Culter of Chelsea, MI and Chelsea (Mark Hunt) Culter of Rotorua, New Zealand; grandchildren Karly and Logan Culter, 3 brothers; Ed Foster, Ray (Bev) Foster, and Mike (Barb) Foster and 1 sister: Judy (Barry) Daniels as well as many nieces and nephews. Janet thoroughly enjoyed volunteering and spending time with her family. She was often involved with her childrens activities in scouting, band, football, track, basketball, 4-H, Airport High School Haunted Forest and countless other events. She readily volunteered for school events, chaperoned trips both locally and out of state, and served as vice president of the Airport Community Schools band boosters. She was also involved with St. Patricks Church as a Eucharistic minister for many years before her diagnosis. She was very creative and enjoyed making crafts with her friends and decorating countless birthday and wedding cakes over the years. Janet was a familiar and friendly face to many at the Carleton Pharmacy, where she worked for many years. A family and friends gathering in her honor will be held from 4:00 -8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 11th in the community room at Community Lutheran Church, 23984 Gibraltar Rd. Flat Rock. A funeral mass will be conducted on at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 12 at Divine Grace Church 2996 W. Labo Rd., Carleton. Interment of Ashes will be at Michigan Memorial Park, Flat Rock. Memorials may be made to the Ebeid Hospice Residence, Sylvania, Oh or Promedica Hospice Monroe. A special note of gratitude to the staff at Medilodge of Monroe, Promedica Hospice Monroe and Ebeid Hospice Residence of Sylvania, OH for their care and compassion.
