James Wesley "Pap" Wilson

September 14, 1952 — June 13, 2025

James Wesley Wilson ”Pap” of Montpelier, Ohio received his heavenly wings on June, Friday the 13th, 2025. This ended his battle with Angiosarcoma-a rare form of cancer. He was born to Lois (Spiker) and John Wilson on September 14th, 1952 in Frostburg, Maryland. He grew up in Akron, Ohio along with his brother John and sister Jeanne.

Jim graduated from Central Hower in Akron. He retired from the Goodyear Tire Company, then continued to work part time at Chase Brass. For over 40 years, Jim provided a D.J. service and was able to read the room playing all the right tunes for all ages to enjoy. He was a drummer, an avid Beatles fan and proud of his extensive music collection. Jim loved playing 31, Monopoly and Euchre with his family. He enjoyed being at the beach, taking long walks and biking.

Jim was an old soul known for his charm and charisma. He would always open doors and let others go first. Jim was known for helping the homeless, his church and neighbors. If Jim called you “Bud” then a special connection was made with him! He was very proud of all of his children and grandchildren and loved them to the end. He was ornery and stubborn, yet found it in his heart to forgive. Jim had a sense of humor…and he knew it. His movie quotes, song lyrics, and one-liners were second to none.

Jim was devoted to his best friend, wife, Deborah (Roddy) for 11 years. Their love for each other was inspiring and they made a wonderful couple. They were soulmates. Jim was the father of Mathew (Maryann) Wilson , daughters Jamie Slonaker, Mandy Wilson, Alexis Wilson, and McKenzie Wilson and the grandfather of Chloe, Colin, Noah, Joseph, Gage, Stella, Levi, Evryn, Jasmine and Leena.

A memorial for Jim’s life will be on a later date at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Edon, Ohio.
