James Leonard “Trouble” Sutton, age 59, passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at his home in Swanton with his family. James was born September 2, 1964, in Louisiana, MO to Gilbert Leonard and Linda Sue Sutton. He grew up in California where he graduated from Sonora High School in La Habra. James was a truck driver for 30 years and lived throughout the United States including Florida, Georgia, California, Arizona, and Ohio.
James was a former member of the Avengers Motorcycle Club and enjoyed riding his Harley with his wife, Stacey, and other club brothers. James had a passion for food. He grew his own peppers and loved spicy food, often competing with his mom to see who could better handle the heat. James enjoyed cooking and was amazing at his passions. In his younger years, he helped his mother with catering and cake decorating. James enjoyed spending time with his family, going to car shows, fishing, and enjoyed living life to its fullest. James was larger than life it self and was loved by many, he will be deeply missed.
In addition to his wife, Stacey, and mother, Linda (Gerry) Cope, James is survived by his children, Jayden, Zander, James Jr., Jazmyn, and Joanna Sutton; brothers, Darrel Carpenter and Dennis Cope; many nieces and nephews; and several pets. He was preceded in death by his father, Gilbert Sutton and brother, Michael Cope.
Visitation will be Friday, February 9, 2024, from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm at the Walker Funeral Home, Holland Chapel, 7438 Airport Hwy., Holland, OH. Memorial donations may be made to James’ family to assist with family expenses. A celebration of life will be held immediately following the showing, at Ape Hangers East Side Saloon, 531 Oak St, Toledo, Oh, 43605.
