James Paxton

James V. Paxton, age 76 of Toledo, Ohio passed away Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Mercy Saint Anne Hospital. He was born in Lima, Ohio on July 25, 1940 to Robert and Laura Paxton. He was a 1958 graduate of Whitmer High School. James is a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a machine operator with Dana-Spicer and General Motors, retiring in 2003. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Laura Paxton, brother, Marvin Paxton. James is survived by his loving wife, Karen Paxton, children, Sandra (Robert) Thompson and Robert Paxton, grandchildren Brooks (Meagan) Thompson, Dustin (Katie) Thompson and great granddaughter, Addilyn Thompson, sister, Peggy (Norm) Lehmann, sister-in-law, Connie Paxton and numerous nieces and nephews. James was a member of Conn Weissenberger American Legion Post, Cushman Club and Vintage Motor Bike. He was also a Masonic member of Damascus Collingwood Lodge. Visitation for friends and family will be Wednesday, March 8, 2017 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm with American Legion Service beginning at 7:30 pm at H. H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home, 3219 Tremainsville Rd (419-473-1301. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 am in the funeral home on Thursday. Interment to follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.
