James W. Lenhart

James W. Lenhart, age 85 of Toledo, Ohio passed away with his family by his side on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2015 at UTMC. He was born in Toledo on October 9, 1929 to Lawrence and Genevieve Lenhart. James was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corp, serving as sergeant. He was a graduate of Whitmer High School. James was a self-employed mechanic and owner of Lenhart Auto for many years. He was a founding member of Great Northern Sportsman Club and a member of R.V.Y.C. He was an avid golfer, fisherman and deer hunter. James was active with Washington Jr. Football League serving as head coach and commissioner, for 20 years. He lived his life to the fullest. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Genevieve Lenhart, sons, Matthew Lenhart and Steven Barber, mother of his 6 children, Patricia Lenhart, and brother, Kenneth Lehnart. James is survived by his devoted children, Douglas (Lori) Barber, Keith (Carol) Lenhart, Christine Stefanoni, Catherine (Hal) Sansom, grandchildren; Steven, Alicia, Stacey, Jilian, James, Tonya, Matthew, Kelsey, Jenna, Marci, Nicholas, 17 great grandchildren, 1 great, great grandchild and siblings; Bernard (Lola) Lenhart, Angie Gaisser, Madonna Hill, Donald (Jean) Lenhart, Jeri Siebold and David (Rita) Lenhart. Memorial visitation will be Friday, April 10 from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm at H. H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home, 3219 Tremainsville Rd (at Alexis) 419-473-1301.
