James A. Babcock, age 85, passed away Thursday, January 3, 2013 surrounded by his loving family at Ebeid Hospice Residence, Sylvania. He was born June 8, 1927 in Elyria, OH, son of James and Luella (Baden) Babcock. James served in the United States Army. He was employed for GM Powertrain as a machine repair foreman, retiring in 1986. James loved spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, boating and taking trips up north to mushroom hunt. He also loved to go dancing. James was a longtime member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. He was a member of Masons Rubicon Lodge, Waterville. James is preceded in death by his wife, Eileen Babcock (2006); sons, Dennis J. Babcock and James Babcock, III and siblings, Orville Babcock and Lyvonne Parzych. James is survived by his daughters, Faith Babcock and Dawn (Mark) Heilman; grandchildren, Thomas (Melissa) Agocs, Holly Agocs, Robert J. (Amber) Agocs, Mark (Ashley) Heilman, James Heilman, Kaitlin (Ben) Heilman and Genah Babcock; great-grandchildren, Cole, Brayden and Madison Agocs, siblings; Clara (Bill) Fish, Louise Fish and sister-in-law, Leona Babcock. A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Connies Celebration 6195 Lewis Ave. Toledo, Ohio 43612 beginning at 11:00 am. His family has entrusted his arrangements with H.H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home, 3219 Tremainsville Rd. (419-473-1301). Memorial contributions may be given to Redeemer Lutheran Church 1702 Upton. or to Ebeid Hospice.
