Herman Reed

Herman Elmer Reed passed away August 10, 2023 at the age of 88 at Otterbein of Monclova.Herman was born August 3, 1935 in Toledo, Ohio. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army Reserves. His career in photography related sales and equipment spanned several decades. He managed Gross Photo in downtown Toledo for several years which is also where he met his wife, Ruth, before he moved on to other businesses. He loved and was very proud of his late wife, children and grandchildren. His passion for fishing, gave him many hours of enjoyment. Herman was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Ruth Reed, his brother, Ted Reed, his sister, Betty Prestin and his son, Mark Reed. He is survived by his sister, Jean (Jim) Larabee, son Herman Reed (Christine Gale-Reed), daughter, Wendy McCollum, daughter-in-law, Tami Reed, grandchildren Mickaylah (Bryce) Garber, Mickenzie Reed, Madyson Reed, Mason Reed, Ethan McCollum, Christopher McCollum and great-grandaughter, Paisley.Visitation and celebration of life will be Friday, August 18, 2023 from 3-6 PM at Blanchard-Strabler Funeral Home, 3219 Tremainsville, Toledo, Ohio.
