Harold J. Seiple

Harold J. Seiple, age 90, of Walbridge, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 23, 2021, in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg surrounded by his loving family. Harold, “Rod” was born in Toledo, Ohio on May 16, 1931 to Martin and Julia (Berasky) Seiple. On June 6, 1953, Harold married the love of his life Betty A. (Bucher) Seiple. They were inseparable for 60 years of marriage. Harold worked for the CSX Railroad for 40 years retiring in 1990. After his family, he was most proud of his military service. Harold served in the Korean War with the United States Marine Corp and held the rank of sergeant upon his discharge. He was also a member of the VFW. He enjoyed bowling for many years. He loved NASCAR and Bluegrass Music. Harold also was a member of Mainstreet Church. Harold was best known for his humor. He had numerous jokes and funny sayings that are and will continue to b passed down for generations. He brightened so many lives with funny songs and his gift to make people laugh. He is survived by his children, Terry Kershner (Matt), Connie Carsten (John), Cheryl Sams (Don), Karen Seiple (Kim), and Harold Seiple (Kris); eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; sibling, Jim Seiple (Mary). He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Betty Seiple, and his brother, Steven Seiple. Harold’s family will receive friends during a time of visitation on Tuesday June 29, 2021 at the Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home (701 North Main Street, Walbridge, OH 43465) from 2-8 PM. A Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, in the funeral home, beginning at 11 AM with Pastor Tom Caldwell officiating. Internment will immediately follow in Lake Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be directed to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
