Graciela Sommer

Graciela Sommer passed away peacefully in Gods hands at Toledo Hospital on July 6, 2018. Graciela lived to be 95. Graciela was the daughter of Miguel Angel de Fex and Delores Pinto de Fex. She was born in Colombia and graduated from Universidad del Atlantico in Barranquilla, Colombia. Graciela worked in the capacity of bilingual secretary for Esso Columbiana for ten years. She came to New York in the early 1960s and lived with relatives. She later became a U.S. citizen. While in New York she met her husband Ray C. Sommer. They got married at St. Joseph Catholic Church. After moving to Toledo, they had two sons Kurt and Erich. She was a member of Rosary Cathedral, St. Agnes, and most recently Blessed Sacrament Church. She was a Secular Franciscan and member of St. Pascal Fraternity for many years. Her survivors are sons Kurt Sommer, Erich (Debra) Sommer, brothers Richard, Miguel (Lucy), George, Edward and Humberto (Aurora), niece Elisa (Douglas) Lash, Nephews Louis (Carolyn) Sommer, Terry Sommer, special friend Tammy and many more nephews and nieces. At her request there will not be a viewing. Relatives and friends are invited to a Funeral Mass on Thursday at 11 AM, where friends will be received after 10 AM at Blessed Sacrament Church located at 2240 Castlewood Dr. Toledo Ohio. Interment will be held at Ottawa Hills Cemetery. The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses who treated her and helped take care of her at Toledo and Flower Hospitals. And many thanks to all the staff at The Lakes of Sylvania skilled nursing facility.
