Georgia Wagner

Georgia Wagner, age 95, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2024, at The Kingston Care Center of Sylvania of a lengthy illness. She was born to George and Serena (Hoffman) Emch in Toledo Ohio. Georgia was a lifelong Catholic, first attending the George W. Stevens school, then Thomas Aquanis and then Whitney High School class of 1949. She worked at Mercy Hospital from the age of 14, then went to Tiedkes Department store downtown.Georgia married Cleason Wagner in 1949 at Thomas Aquanis Church in East Toledo. Cleason served in the Army Air Corps during World War 2. He was trained as a pilot, co-pilot, navigator and bombardier. Georgia is proceeded in death by Cleason, her parents, brothers Robert and Ronald. She is survived by her children Eileen Miller, Mary Margaret Robinson, and Mark (Mary Frances) Wagner. Also surviving is her sister Dianna Jankowski, grandchildren Raymond (Meghan) Wambold, Allan Wambold and Hans Miller. Great grandchildren Alexandria Erin Wambold and Lewis Wambold, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and especially those from the Blessed Sacrament Choir.Georgia sang in the Blessed Sacrament choir for over 45 years and was the Secretary for many of those years. She was an excellent home seamstress and enjoyed writing to her many friends and family. She and Cleason were in the bird club and had gold finches for years. A bird aviary was in the back yard of their home. She loved gardening and taking care of her home. Highly dedicated to her family, she participated in their school activities. She will be highly missed by all who knew her.The family is especially thankful for the good caregivers at Kingston over the last 6 years. Her caring nurse Carolyn, and Carol and Arlene are especially remembered.Services are to be held at The Church of the Most Blessed Sacrament. The Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, November 16th at 11:00. The body will be shown in the narthex of the church for one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the Blessed Sacrament Church at 4227 Bellevue Road, Toledo, Ohio 43613. Funeral lunch to be provided.
