Georgia Ann Smith

Georgia A. Smith, also lovingly known as Mom, Georgie, GiGi and Gramma, 81, of Genoa, Ohio, formerly of Walbridge, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at her residence on Monday, August 19, 2024. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on July 1, 1943, the daughter of George and Loretta (Wheeler) Bonn. Georgia married Clifford W. Smith, Jr. in Monroe, Michigan on January 11, 1964, and spent 38 happy years together until his death on February 27, 2002.

Georgia was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who cherished her family, making sure she took care of them in every way. They considered her their “rock” in both good and difficult times. She had a great sense of humor and every night about 8 PM, she and her sister Donna, would talk on the phone and trade jokes and trivia. She enjoyed working crossword & word search puzzles and reading, especially Nicholas Sparks novels. Georgia attended the Genoa Senior Center and looked forward to the fellowship and sharing of meals with other members.

Georgia will be deeply missed by her daughter, Kathleen (Raymond) Albright, son, Steven (Micki) Smith, sister, Donna (Ronny) Reiter, brother, Robert Truman, grandchildren, Irene Albright (Justin), Chanelle Albright (Alex), Josh (Holli) Smith, Jesse (Krista) Smith, Caitlin Gasiorowski (Jimmy Keller), and Hayley (Alex) Kurtzman, great-grandchildren, Jameson Carter, Jeremiah Carter, Ember Smith, Odin Smith, Wyatt Smith, Oakleigh Smith, Clifford Smith, Sawyer Cormany, Hudson Keller, Addison Kurtzman, and Eleanor Kurtzman. Stepson Ronny (Mary) Smith and her special feline companion, “Molly”. She was preceded in death by her parents, George & Loretta Bonn and husband Clifford W. Smith, Jr.

Visitation for Georgia will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM, Monday, August 26, 2024, at the Walker Funeral Home, 701 N. Main Street, Walbridge, Ohio, followed by a funeral service at 7:00 PM, in the funeral home. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 27, 2024, in the Ottawa Hills Memorial Park Cemetery, Toledo, Ohio.
