George Arthur Sexton

George Sexton, age 82, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, passed away at his home on Sunday, November 28, 2021. George was born on September 23, 1939 in Gatliff, KY to James and Alsace (Childress) Sexton. He served in the Unites States Marine Corp from 1958 to 1962. Following his service, he returned to Toledo and attended Penta Vocational College where he earned a degree in accounting. George operated several small businesses before spending 20 years on the road as a truck driver hauling expedited freight. George was lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox and University of Kentucky Wildcats. In his prime, he was an avid bowler and also liked to golf, fish, and play cards. In his later years, he enjoyed going to auctions, flea markets, and antique shops with his special companion Pamela Schneider. George will be interred at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park with his wife Donna, who proceeded him in death. He was also proceeded in death by his brother Bob (Regina) Sexton, sister Alice (Paul) Gartee, and step-son Steven Slates. George is survived by his son Jeff (Beth) Sexton, daughter Cassandra Sexton, step-sons Raymond (Louise) Slates and Mark (Jennifer) Slates, step-daughter Robin Slates, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.Memorial contributions may be given to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or the Kidney Foundation of Northwest Ohio
