Frederick Arthur Taylor

June 12, 1944 — August 31, 2022

Frederick A. Taylor (Fred) 78, of Waterville, Ohio passed away, surrounded by his family, peacefully from this life into everlasting life in the Arms of Our Lord, on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio.


Fred was born June 12, 1944, in Elwood, Indiana, the son of William Frederick and Francis Mary (Deweese) Taylor who preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife Marsha (Prince) Taylor of Waterville, Ohio and his special little brother Steve (Cindy) Czerniak Jr., of Holland, Ohio.


Fred retired as a Supervisor of Skilled Trades (Layout Inspection) Quality Production Manager at Chrysler Corporation – Toledo Jeep Assembly Plant in 2001. He worked at American Motors as a Layout Supervisor retiring in 1983. Fred was the first CAD Operator for the Auto Industry with many Awards of Accomplishment and was honored to travel and live in many places around the world, including Venezuela and China with his home always being the United States of America with deep love. He loved getting to know people and their customs and always had a great smile and a kind word, treating everyone with Love and Respect.


Fred studied Adult Liberal Arts at the University of Toledo where he had an equivalent of an Engineering Degree.


Fred continued to work after his retirement in the Auto Industry, as manager of Ace Hardware of Sylvania, Ohio; Maintenance Supervisor of the JCC, also of Sylvania, Ohio. Fred worked many years as a Security Officer for the Toledo Museum of Art, where he met his current wife, Marsha. At the time of his death, Fred was an employee of the Lucas County Board of Elections.


Fred’s passion in life was automobiles and was a long-time member in good standing with his friends, colleagues, and co-workers of The Oak Park Gang Car Club which he enjoyed attending car shows for charity, as well as cooking for the guys. Fred also enjoyed card playing where he was a member of his weekly Euchre Club of which he had several friends. Fred was very well liked by so many people here and around the world. He will be truly missed.


Fred is survived by his five children; Michelle (Terry) Wolfe of Illinois; Veneda (Taylor) Ream and Frederick Taylor both of Wisconsin.  Jean M. Reising of Evansville, Indiana and Jon W. Prince of Toledo, Ohio. He is also survived by his siblings, brother Kenneth (Linda) Taylor and sister Nancy Taylor, both of Wisconsin, and two step-brothers Eric and Anthony Horner.


Fred was preceded in death by his brothers William Allen Taylor, William Gene Taylor and Mitchell Horner, and step mother Pam Taylor.


Also surviving are his brother & sister-in-law Jean (Brian) Shone of Kokomo, Indiana, fifteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins that he loved dearly.


The Taylor family would like to thank the staff of Fresenius Dialysis Centers of Arrowhead in Maumee, Ohio; Kokomo, Indiana, and Evansville, Indiana; Encompass Rehabilitation Hospital of Toledo, Ohio and a Special thank you to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo campus for all the care, love and support given to Fred and our Family.


Fred was an active member of Providence Lutheran Church where he was very loved and respected by our church family, and a very special thank you goes out to Pastor Todd Milner for all his wisdom, guidance, and sincere love for Fred and to our family during our time of need.


A “Celebration of Life” will be October 22, 2022 at 12:00 PM at Providence Lutheran Church of Holland, Ohio with Pastor Todd Milner officiating
