Fred Sparks

Fred J. Sparks, Jr., 83, of Walbridge, went to be with the love of his life, Opal, in heaven on Thursday, August 19, 2021. He was born in Ivyton, KY to Marybelle (Marshall) and Fred Sparks, Sr. on April 5, 1938. Fred cherished his wife and family. He enjoyed fishing and going to flea markets to find treasures. Fred was retired after working for many years as a crusher operator at the Lime City Quarry. Fred is survived by his beloved daughters, Peggy (Damon) Cecil, Brenda (Randy) Cline, Connie (William) Goodlet, Loretta Lisk; grandchildren, Jennifer (Justin) Smith, Chad (Brittany Rice) Goodlet, Danielle (John) Sancrant, Justin (Michelle) Lisk, Amber (Brad Banachowski) Lisk; great-grandchildren, Kayla, Dakota, Addison, Braden, Marissa, Jayce, Autumn; brothers, Buddy Sparks, Glen Sparks; special cemetery visiting friend, Andy Georgeff; and countless other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Opal Sparks, in April earlier this year; several siblings; and parents. Friends will be received on Monday, August 23, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Witzler-Shank-Walker Home, 701 N. Main Street, Walbridge, OH (419-666-3121). A Funeral Service will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the staff at St. Vincent Hospital for taking such great care of Fred in the ICU. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
